Summer Movie to See - Grown Ups
American comedy film starring Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade and Rob Schneider. Rock, Schneider, Spade and Sandler (as well as co-star Tim Meadows) all joined the cast of Saturday Night Live in the 1990-91 season. Sandler and Fred Wolf wrote the script and Dennis Dugan is directing. The film is produced by Sandler's production company Happy Madison and will be distributed by Columbia Pictures.[1] Filming commenced in Southborough, Massachusetts on May 18, 2009, but most of the filming was done at Chebacco Lake in Essex, Massachusetts and at Water Wizz at Wareham, Massachusetts.[2] It is set to be released on June 25, 2010. Adam Sandler has made films with the other four male leads, but all five have never appeared in the same movie until now.

Five best friends (Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade and Rob Schneider) from junior high reunite over 30 years later in the wake of the death of their old basketball coach and decide to spend the Independence Day weekend together with their families at the lake house where they celebrated their championship.

Interesting fact - The jukebox in this movie was in the home of our listing at 34 Scobie Pond Road in Derry.

Let's Go Camping!
Summer is here! It's time to pack up the tent and head into the woods for a fun weekend of camping. Whether you go for a week or weekend with your family, or head out on your own, the first thing you need to remember is safety when camping.

Always tell someone what your plans are, where you are going, what time you will be back and who you will be with. Never go alone. It's safer to have someone with you, and more fun.

Make sure you have everything you need BEFORE you head out. Make a list of all your supplies and check off your list as you pack up. Know basic first aid and carry a first aid kit with you.

Know the area you are camping in and how to get back home! If you are not sure about your camping abilities take an adult with you, never go out into the woods without knowing the area, the wildlife you might encounter and the rules and regulations for camping in that area.

Best Wines for Summer
2006 Montes Limited Selection Sauvignon Blanc ($14)

Montes, one of Chile’s best Sauvignon Blanc producers, makes this crisp, citrusy reserve bottling with grapes from the Leyda valley, close to the Pacific Ocean.

2004 Errazuriz Wild Ferment Chardonnay ($20)

Smoky, herbal and full of rich lemon-curd flavors, this sleek white is fermented with wild yeasts, which tend to create more exotic flavors and aromas than commercial strains.

2006 Susana Balbo Crios Rosé of Malbec ($19)

Star Argentine winemaker Susana Balbo uses old-vine Malbec grapes from the Agrelo subregion of Mendoza to create this lightly spicy, strawberry-inflected rosé.

2005 The Show Cabernet Sauvignon ($15)

This ebullient, cassis-driven Cabernet comes from the same trio of innovative wine professionals (including Napa Valley’s seemingly ubiquitous Joel Gott) who created the equally engaging Three Thieves label a few years back.

2005 2 up Shiraz ($14)

This affordable new blackberry-rich Shiraz bottling from Australia’s Kangarilla Road Winery takes its name from an Australian gambling game that initially became popular with soldiers during World War I.

2001 Chivite Gran Feudo Reserva ($18)

Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot form the blend in this structured red from one of the oldest producers in Spain’s Navarra region. Its taste recalls wild boysenberries.

The Best Beaches on the Seacoast of NH

Seacoast of New Hampshire is the preeminent place to visit during the summer for great beaches. With a 13.5 stretch of coastline, there are a number of options to choose from when you decide to head out.

The first place you should check out is North Beach in Hampton. North Beach is on the main stretch of beach road known as Route 1-A, and runs throughout most of Hampton. It's got plenty of sand and room for those few thousand, that's right THOUSAND, beachgoers that come for holidays like the 4th of July. North Beach is well known throughout New England, and people from all over flock here. It's a great place to spend some time with the family, and you'll see people from as far away as Quebec enjoying the weather. North Beach does have parking meters, and the meter maids are adamant about tickets, so get there early and load up your timer. If you plan on heading down there for a weekend or on a really nice day, plan on jockeying with a number of other people for good parking spots as it gets crowded very quickly. North Beach is the summer destination, so head over there the next time the weather gets nice.

Summer Lawn Tips

Longer Is Better - Many people cut their grass too short. Optimal length is around 3 in. This helps shade out weeds, keeps the roots cooler and provides enough grass leaf to encourage deeper root growth.

Water Right - A lawn needs about 1 in. of water a week. If you're allowed to use a sprinkler or irrigation system, water twice a week applying 1/2 in. of water per session.

Frequent light watering does more harm than good because it encourages shallow root growth. So use a rain gauge or a soup can placed nearby to measure the amount of water you are applying. Of course, to avoid wasting water, be mindful of proper sprinkler setup. Be sure that water is not being wasted on sidewalks, driveways or the patio.

Dormant Is Okay - Don't panic if there's a drought. A lawn can go brown and dormant for as long as eight weeks. When the drought is over, apply a summer fertilizer and repair damaged areas.

Summer’s Hot Ice Cream Flavors

Chardonnay. Lime mojito. Bacon and avocado. This season’s ice cream flavors might surprise even the most adventurous. Making their way to grocers’ freezers are pints of beer, wine and other inventive frozen concoctions. Creative ice cream recipes are showing up with forgotten herbs and bits of candied meat. But not to worry true vanilla purists, your classic still ranks as the most popular ice cream flavor in the U.S. (with chocolate in a distant second). From The Kitchens of The Food Channel
